Manhattan is a complicated place to live but a simple place to figure out. If it isn't uptown or downtown it doesn't exist,  you can have anything delivered to your door within the hour and you will end up dropping all of your hard-earned Manhattan money on the expensive Manhattan lifestyle that you insisted on living in the first place.
 

 When you least expect it, a store will come along and make your fiscal life happy and perfect again. Like...Trader Joe's. The best grocery and wine store ($2.99 for a legit bottle of red) EVER! Worth riding the subway down 70 blocks and worth the $2.25 fare each way. Nothing in my neighborhood compares.
