out with the old, in with the new

I recently went through pretty much all of my belongings (clothes, shoes, books, music, etc.) in an effort to make more room in my tiny living space & prepare my things so that I'm ready to move when the time comes.

I've already been through this process before, a little over two years ago when we moved from the house a grew up in to a smaller, more manageable house for my mom.

Apparently, I didn't do a very good job then because I still have WAY too much.
This process was more difficult than I thought it would be, largely because I have to force myself to decide what's worth holding on to.

Rummaging through old things makes you relive the past:
"I remember when I got this"
"I remember when I wore this"
"I remember why I'm still holding on to this"

Letting go of 'things' is my way of making way for the new, hopefully good stuff, that will be coming my way.

BUT....
My tie-dyed Guthrie's t-shirt with holes is STAYING!
